The
Kingston Bookshop was pleased once again to salute teachers
in a series of luncheons across the island...
This
store, the company’s flagship was the sole store up to 1991 when
Shop # 23 was opened in the Pavilion Mall. It is noteworthy that the growth
of the company to its present seven-store chain, and Stationery Centre
has not in any way changed the position of the 70b Store. It continues
to be flagship – selling most texts of any store in the Caribbean.
Although some changes have been made and over the years the front has
taken on a different look from time to time 70b remains 70b the centre
for books in downtown Kingston. Some three generations have been served
.at that location if one considers its successor – The SPCK (society
for the Promotion of Christian Knowledge).
70b – the original and still the best, continues to maintain the
high standard of service that Jamaican have come to expect from the Kingston
Bookshop. They serve the public from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Monday to
Saturday with special opening hours to facilitate Back-to-School and Christmas
shopping.
The team is headed by co-managers Mr Ruel Matthie and Miss Paula Clarke.
