SONIA
FULLER joined the company in 1975 and worked
in various capacities. In 1989 she began serving
as personal secretary to managing director Mr.
Leslie Ridout and later functioned as
company secretary. She was appointed a director of
the company in 1991 and took up her present
position as director of administration in 1996.
Over the years her performance has been marked by
commitment, conscientiousness, efficiency and a
high level of professionalism.
Married
since 1978 to Steadman
Fuller, Mrs. Fuller's input into
the daily operations of the company ensures
stability and order which supports the growth of
the company. Hers is the task of coordinating the
administrative aspects of the company's
operations, duties which she carries out with
attention to detail. She also takes responsibility
for some of the company's outreach programmes such
as the summer employment programme, the Work
experience programme and the annual Christmas
treat.
The
Fullers work as a team with Mr. Fuller
handling supervision of operations while Mrs.
Fuller concentrates on administration.
"She has her feet on the ground, and an eye
for detail," says her husband, with pride.
"She handles all the company's personnel and
related matters and I must add that as a result
the Kingston Bookshop Ltd enjoys good
management/staff relations."
On
the matter of the success of the company, Mrs.
Fuller had this to say: "I think, in
part, we owe the success of the Kingston
Bookshop to our special emphasis on
educational and religious books. Also, sound
management, and a positive outlook on life enable
us to see the great possibilities for the future,
so that instead of contracting, we are expanding.
There is always a large portfolio on job
applications - especially summer jobs."
